The U. S. Embassy in Yaoundé is seeking an individual for the position of Human Resources Clerk.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Specialist, incumbent serves as Clerk in a Human Resources Office and provides assistance with the recruitment and personnel management of Embassy Local Guard Force (LGF) staff. Incumbent also assists other HR colleagues whenever necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. Education: Completion of high school education (GCE “A” level or Baccalauréat) is required.
2. Experience: At least three years of secretarial or administrative experience in an international organization or large local institution is required.
3. Language: Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English and French are required and will be tested.
4. Job Knowledge: Applicant must have a good working knowledge of English and French Grammar, spelling and punctuation; must have good knowledge of administrative procedures and time management to effectively manage job tasks and responsibilities. Job knowledge may be tested.
5. Skills and Abilities: Incumbent must be able to interact with employees tactfully, inspire their confidence and trust, and maintain a pleasant attitude despite numerous work pressures and deadlines; must be able to work independently for routine work and provide excellent customer service; must be computer literate (good at Word, Excel and e-mail) and have typing skills of 40 w.p.m. minimum. Skills and abilities may be tested.

- Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
- Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
- Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
- Currently employed U.S. Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
- Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
- The candidate must be able to obtain and hold a Locally Employed Staff security clearance.
